What are shelving units
Shelving units are structures designed for the orderly storage of various items, materials or equipment. They are characterised by high durability, strength and the practical division of space using individual shelves.
Our shelving units have 55 × 47 mm steel uprights, 60 × 40 mm beams and steel shelves, so they carry up to 500 kg per shelf. The key element is the welded construction, which increases the strength, rigidity and long-term stability of the whole unit.
Unlike many bolted or quick-assembly solutions, a welded frame provides stable support even under long-term load. The shelving unit therefore retains its shape and strength even with regular use. The steel profiles have a surface finish that increases their resistance to corrosion and mechanical damage while extending the service life of the whole unit.
Advantages of shelving units
Shelving units are a practical solution for anyone who needs to organise tools, materials, supplies or other items clearly. Their main advantages include:
High load capacity: A unit with four shelves carries a total of 1,200 kg, and up to 2,000 kg in the reinforced 2T version. The shelving unit retains its shape and strength even in long-term use.
Stability in everyday use: A well-made shelving unit stands firm and remains stable even when heavier items are placed on it.
Long service life and easy maintenance: The steel profiles withstand mechanical wear, moisture and everyday dirt. Shelving units only need to be cleaned as required.
Durability in more demanding conditions: The structure copes with daily handling, minor impacts and temperature changes. It is therefore also suitable for tent halls or shipping containers.
Efficient use of space: Shelving units let you arrange items on several levels while keeping a good overview of where they are.
How to choose a suitable shelving unit?
When choosing, it is important to consider the dimensions of the available space, the required load capacity and the type of items you want to place on the individual shelves. If you have less space available, a narrow shelving unit that uses the height of the room without taking up too much floor area may be a suitable solution. With several shelves, it still offers plenty of room to organise items clearly.
With heavier loads, the strength of the structure and the load capacity of the individual shelves are particularly important. A shelving unit should be chosen according to how heavy the items you plan to store on it are and how often you will handle them.
What to look for when choosing a shelving unit?
Dimensions: A Hagro shelving unit needs a footprint of 2 × 0.6 m and a height of 2 m. A longer assembly can be ordered up to a length of 10 m.
Shelf load capacity: For ordinary items in a garage or cellar, the 1.2T version with a capacity of 300 kg per shelf is sufficient; for heavy tools and materials choose the reinforced 2T version with 500 kg.
Structural strength: The welded frame of the shelving units increases rigidity and stability.
Number of shelves: Adapt the layout to the size and quantity of the items stored.
Looking for a narrow or corner shelving unit?
We do not currently offer a narrow or corner shelving unit. Our shelving unit is 60 cm deep and 2 m wide, so measure the space where you want to place it before ordering. If you want to use the corner of a room, place two separate units against two walls in an L shape. Bear in mind, however, that the shelves in the corner itself will be harder to reach.
Tyre rack and add-on modules
For garages and car workshops we offer a tyre rack 2 × 0.6 × 2 m with a load capacity of 300 or 500 kg per level. Tyres and wheels with rims can be stored on it off the floor and in an orderly way. If one rack is not enough, connect an add-on tyre rack or an add-on shelving unit to it. It shares one side of the structure with the original rack, so you extend the assembly without buying another stand-alone unit.
Shelving for orderly organisation
Shelving lets you divide stored items by type, size or frequency of use. You can place the most frequently used items at an easily accessible height and less frequently used items on higher or lower shelves. Such an arrangement improves clarity and at the same time makes more efficient use of the available height of the space.
A sturdy structure and sufficient load capacity are important especially when the shelving is to be used for heavier tools, materials or larger quantities of supplies. If you need a solution for storing palletised goods, pallet racks are a suitable alternative. Cantilever racks are designed for long materials such as pipes, profiles or boards.
Hagro shelving units as a long-term solution
Shelving units are a simple and functional solution for the orderly organisation of items in the home, in companies and in various businesses. Thanks to a sturdy structure, high load capacity and several levels, a shelving unit makes efficient use of the available space while ensuring easy access to the stored items.
You can also use shelving units in saddle halls, arched halls or shipping containers. Choose a shelving unit according to the required dimensions, load capacity and available space. If you have any questions, the Hagro team will be happy to help you choose a suitable solution.
